Remember remember the 5th November, I always forget but nevermind.
Today was Bonfire night, smiliar to Thanksgiving we waste money on foreworks and then light them. I will now bore you all with a history on Bonfirenight. (With me being British and all that)
In 1605 a fellow named Guy Fawkes attempted to blow-up the houses of parliment with 36 barrels of Gunpowder with 13 other men. This was an act of Catholic rebellion against King James I (King James 1st) & the catholic group decided that violence was the only answer to the problem. If these men attempted this today they would be known as terrorists.
Then some of the men in the group thought that innocent people would get hurt in the blast, some of them might even have been fellow catholics so some of the men in the group had second thoughts on the plan.
Then one of the men betrayed the other 12 men & wrote a letter to his friend Lord Monteagle and warned him to stay away from Parliment on November 5th. This letter was then delievered to the king & the king's forces made plans to stop them.
Guy Fawkes was in Parlients cellar in the early hours of November 5th with the 36 barrels of Gunpowder. Guy Fawkes was caught, tortured & finally excecuted.
It isn't clear on how Guy Fawkes was tortured (According to the website I did research on) but it says that he and Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwod and Robert Keyes were killed by being Hung, Drawn & Quartered. (Which i'm not going to explain, unless you so desire me to explain it)
